Our school students achieved excellent results in the 17th China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge National Finals

The 17th CIMC "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge National Finals will be held from August 11 to 15, 2023 at Lanzhou University of Technology. 523 teams from 243 universities have completed 9 competitions, with a total of 485 teams winning. All 7 participating teams from our university who advanced to the national finals have won, with a total of 3 national first prizes and 4 national second prizes. The number of awards is tied for third place in the country, and we have been awarded the "Excellent Organization Award".

In the national finals, five teams from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation won one first prize and four second prizes nationwide. Among them, he won one first prize and one second prize in the discrete industry motion control competition, two second prizes in the process industry automation direction competition, and one second prize in the discrete industry automation engineering practice competition. Two teams from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering won one first prize in the CNC digital twin virtual debugging direction competition, and one first prize in the intelligent production line and collaborative robot direction competition.

The Siemens Cup China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge is a competition item on the national university subject competition evaluation ranking list. The competition has become the largest and oldest university competition in the field of intelligent manufacturing in China, as well as the highest standard national competition. Since its development in 2006, the competition has been successfully held for 17 sessions, with a total of 9 events offered. The scale and influence of the competition have reached new historical highs, attracting nearly 700 universities, 7180 teams, and over 25000 teachers and students from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country to participate. The scale of the competition has reached 52 sub regions. In the preliminary competition, students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation of our school won a total of 4 special prizes, 9 first prizes, and 6 second prizes; The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has won 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, and 6 second prizes; The School of Energy and Mechanical Engineering won one first prize, and the School of Economics and Management won one first prize.

The school has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' practical abilities, encouraged and organized them to actively participate in various skill competitions, and improved their innovation and entrepreneurship abilities. After careful arrangement and deployment, the guiding teachers provided comprehensive guidance and training to the participating team members. The participating team members overcame the influence of high temperatures and fought bravely in the laboratory, and achieved excellent results in the competition, fully demonstrating the solid professional knowledge foundation, excellent teamwork awareness, and courageous spirit of our school students.
