On the morning of September 9th, the School of Electrical Engineering held a 2023 graduate entrance education and mentor meeting at Room 115, Wenshan Building, Sanjiang Campus. The Party Secretary of the college, Yu Zhong'an, Dean Liu Xiping, Vice Dean Huang Chaozhi, 17 graduate supervisors and counselors, Li Xinyan, and all 23rd level graduate students attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dean Liu Xiaoping.
At the beginning of the meeting, Liu Xiping reviewed the development process of the School of Electrical Engineering, introduced the basic information of discipline platforms, research fields, and the research directions of various mentors, and gave high expectations and prospects for the future development of the college and students. And I hope that 2023 graduate students can make advance plans, live a fulfilling and meaningful graduate life, encourage students to actively respond to the role transition from undergraduate to graduate, clarify learning goals for the graduate stage, adjust learning methods, fully utilize the research resources of the college, and devote themselves to doing research.
At the meeting, Huang Chaozhi stated that during the graduate stage, one should establish a correct outlook on life and values, build solid research and practical abilities, create a good learning and living environment, and be a physically and mentally healthy person. I hope that the research fields of the mentors will align with the interests and future development of the students to the greatest extent possible, and emphasize that the mentor selection meeting is an important lens in the long interpretation of life, with a full sense of ceremony, marking the students' formal entry into the level of highly educated, high-level, and skilled talents, writing a new picture, and starting a new journey.
Li Xinyan gave a detailed introduction to the new students in five aspects, including the overview of the school and college, campus life guidelines, daily management regulations for students, graduate reward policies, and safety education tips. She also sent a message to the new students, hoping that everyone can grasp the current situation, make long-term plans, take dreams as horses, and live up to their youth.
Finally, the 23rd grade graduate students in the college made a two-way choice, which promoted mutual understanding and in-depth communication between teachers and students through this conference. The teacher's research field matched the interests and aspirations of the students to the greatest extent possible, and the students were full of confidence in their future learning.
