Intended to meet the urgent needs of the country's high, precision, and cutting-edge "chip" technology and talents, the Electronic Science and Technology major has been striving for excellence since its establishment in 2007. The overall enrollment is increasing, with a total of over 500 undergraduate students currently enrolled. More than 600 urgently needed talents in the field of electronic science and technology have been trained for society.
Training objectives
Graduates can become the backbone of enterprises, scientific research, and public institutions related to the electronic information industry approximately 5 years after graduation. Capable of assuming the roles of individual, team member, and leader in a multidisciplinary team. Especially in the fields of embedded systems, integrated circuits, electronic materials and devices, and project management, becoming high-level engineers, researchers, and managers. Graduates possess strong self-learning abilities and lifelong learning awareness, and are able to recognize development trends and grasp development directions in the rapid development of electronic information technology.
Characteristics of Education
The long-term cultivation of high-quality and urgently needed electronic professionals for society is the characteristic and purpose upheld by this major. Undergraduate talent cultivation is divided into two directions: electronic science and electronic technology. The goal of electronic science is to cultivate research talents, covering advanced electronic functional devices, modern electronic materials, and microelectronic processes. Specifically, the main direction is to study integrated bipolar transistor circuits and intelligent sensor devices; The goal of electronic technology is to cultivate high-quality electronic engineering and technical talents, based on integrated circuit design and application, including CMOS analog integrated circuits, digital integrated circuit backend, and embedded software and hardware design.
Main courses
The main professional courses for undergraduate students aim to improve their scientific literacy and cultivate their innovative abilities, including four modules: firstly, the general education course module includes mathematics, physics, English, and ideological and political education; The second is the professional basic course module, which includes courses such as circuit analysis, analog electronic technology, digital electronic technology, signal and system analysis, etc; The third professional course module includes semiconductor device physics, semiconductor technology, CMOS analog integrated circuit analysis and design, digital integrated circuit analysis and design, embedded system technology, etc; The fourth is the practical module, which includes electronic system design, integrated circuit design, etc.
Educational conditions
The major has a master's degree in the first level discipline of Electronic Science and Technology; The Teaching and Research Office of Electronic Science and Technology currently has 17 full-time teachers, all of whom have a master's degree or above (6 have a doctoral degree), including 8 master's supervisors and one Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award winner; In the past three years, teachers in the teaching and research department have led more than ten vertical scientific research projects at or above the provincial level, and published more than thirty high-level scientific research papers.
international exchange
Jiangxi University of Technology and Amur Gongqingcheng National University in Russia jointly organized undergraduate education in Electronic Science and Technology. This project is a full-time undergraduate international cooperative education project approved by the Ministry of Education in 2019 (approval number: MOE36RU2A20191994N).
Future development direction of graduates
In terms of employment, due to the high demand for electronic technology talents in the electronic information industry, the one-time employment rate of graduates from previous majors is over 90%, and their salaries are generous; Due to regional influence, over 70% of graduates choose to work and start businesses in the Pearl River Delta region. Their majors have formed certain alumni resource advantages in the fields of analog integrated circuits and embedded systems; In terms of further education, more than 70% of graduates who pursue further education enter research institutes such as Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, and Sun Yat sen University to pursue master's and doctoral degrees, engaging in research on integrated circuits or electronic devices.
